- Expected to solve problems in declining areas with smart technologies with high sensitivity such as safe walking and shared parking-

□ The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport initiated the revitalization of the regeneration area through the '2022 Life-Close Urban Regeneration Smart Technology Support Project' targeting the declining and aging areas that are promoting the urban regeneration project.
ㅇ Living-friendly urban regeneration smart technology support project is a project to solve local problems and improve settlement conditions by establishing smart services linked with regeneration projects.
ㅇ Through this open call, a total of about 15 project sites will be selected and a maximum of KRW 5 million will be provided for each project site.

□ The main target of support for the open call project is safety and firefighting, transportation, energy/environment, and living/welfare, which are four areas with high resident sensitivity.
ㅇ Smart services that meet local needs will be supported by deriving bottom-up smart services by collecting residents' opinions.
ㅇ Examples of major lifestyle-related smart services are as follows.

≪ Major examples by smart service sector ≫

❶ Safety and Firefighting: Smart Disaster Prediction and Warning

The smart forecasting/alarming service secures safety by automatically blocking the river entrance when the water level rises through the river water level gauge. In addition, by using the collected water level data, disaster forecasting and warning broadcasts will be transmitted to predict the occurrence of disasters in advance, and text messages will be sent to residents living in low-lying areas to enable rapid evacuation.

❷ Transportation: Smart safe walking

Install intelligent CCTV and speed violation warning devices in existing traffic facilities. Information on approaching speeding vehicles and blind spot pedestrians is displayed on the electronic display to induce safe driving of the driver. Pedestrian safety is ensured through voice guidance devices and crosswalk spotlights, and crime prevention effects are expected by combining security devices such as emergency bells.

➌ Energy/Environment: Smart Clean Road

Smart Clean Road installs a station that measures temperature and humidity to automatically operate the road sprinkler according to changes in the environment to alleviate the heat island phenomenon. Compared to the water sprinkler, the watering cycle is shortened and it can be operated year-round, so it can be used in various ways such as when road cleaning is required, such as fine dust.

❹ Living and Welfare: Smart Shelter

A smart shelter that combines various smart technologies such as fine dust air dome, digital signage, public Wi-Fi, and heated bench near the promenade will be created and operated as a social space where local residents can gather and enjoy outdoor activities.

□ The application period for public offering projects is from November 25th to November 26th, and the final selection is planned by the end of December after undergoing evaluation by an evaluation committee composed of experts in related fields.

ㅇ For details such as detailed evaluation standards and forms, refer to the selection notice posted on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport website (www.molit.go.kr) or the Urban Regeneration Information System (www.city.go.kr) and This can be found in the application guidelines.

□ Kim Gyu-cheol, head of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Urban Regeneration Project Planning Team, said, “Smart services are essential to improve the living conditions of not only new cities but also declining and aging areas.”

ㅇ “I hope that each local government will actively discover sustainable smart services that local residents can experience”.
