Exhibition Overview and History

The Subcontracting Fair was conceived in 1984 when the representative of the Finnish Metal Industry Association and the representative of Tampere Exhibition Center agreed that an exhibition to promote the expertise of the subcontracting industry was necessary. Since then, it has been one of the largest industrial exhibitions in Northern Europe, which started for the first time in Tampere in 1988 and has continued for more than 30 years.

The Subcontracting Fair is a place where more than 1,000 companies showcase their latest technologies. 2020 was not held due to COVID-19, but 2021 was held at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Center from September 9nd to 22th.

This year's exhibition theme was Business from Data, emphasizing the importance of information in the future industry. Seminars and exhibitions related to Smart Industry, Security, and Productivity were held throughout the exhibition period. "The purpose of this exhibition is to help manufacturers use data to expand business opportunities and increase productivity and competitiveness," said Tanja Jarvensivu, exhibition PM, in an interview with the Korea Trade Center.
