– Expected to reduce food waste by operating RFID volume-rate system
“Give a little and give a little”

From November 1st, the city of Gimpo will operate RFID volume-rate system for 7 apartment complexes to reduce food waste.

A total of 136 devices have been installed, and it is a method of paying by weight rather than the volume of the existing volume-based food waste bag. Since the weight fee is calculated as much as discarded, the effect of reducing food waste can be expected.

The city conducted resident education in each complex over two days on the 25th and 26th to minimize the confusion of how to dispose of food waste. The included notice was distributed to each apartment management office.

In addition, because it is difficult to refund because it has been a long time since the purchase to exhaust the previously purchased volume-based bags in each household, it was decided to temporarily use the volume-based bags and RFID volume-rate machine at the same time until this year.

The fee payment method is a prepayment system, and it is possible to pay the fee with T-money, cash fee transportation card, and credit card with transportation card function.

In addition, after using it for a certain period from November, it will be decided whether or not to expand the RFID volume-based device pilot project after confirming the effect of resident awareness survey and food waste reduction effect.
