– Siheung City K-Golden Coast Innovation Technology Test Bed Promotion of 'AI Safe Driving Assistant Demonstration Project' for the safety of children commuting to school
From November, Siheung City will begin pilot operation of the 'AI Safe Driving Assistant Demonstration Project', which induces drivers to drive safely by applying artificial intelligence technology to recognize pedestrians.
This project will be conducted in the area around the children's protection area at the main gate of Janghyeon Elementary School. When pedestrians are detected near the crosswalk through intelligent CCTV that recognizes pedestrians, the LED sign installed in both directions of the road and in front of the school displays the phrase “Pedestrians present”.
This demonstration project is expected to help improve driver awareness through intuitive guide signs that induce safe driving, and to provide a safe walking environment for the transportation vulnerable, such as children.
Meanwhile, the city is focusing on the 'K-Golden Coast Innovative Technology Test Bed' project to improve the quality of life of citizens by solving urban problems through innovative technologies. This AI safe driving assistant demonstration project was also promoted as part of the project.
In addition, with the K-Golden Coast as a base, the city provides demonstration opportunities to companies with innovative technologies throughout the city to test the performance and effectiveness of innovative technologies while helping to commercialize the technologies.
A city official said, “If the participation of companies with innovative technologies is activated through the continuous test bed project, it will be a good opportunity to not only provide an opportunity for citizens’ safety and solve urban problems, but also to establish the image of Siheung as a high-tech city.” said.
