– 1st Cheonan digital cultural event held, with information and communication technology sharing in preparation for COVID-19

Cheonan City held the '5st Cheonan City Digital Culture Event' to foster the capabilities and healthy citizenship required for digital citizens living in an intelligent information society in the 1G era, and to create a new information technology (IT)-based culture.

This Cheonan digital cultural event started from the fact that the core driving force for recovering daily life by overcoming COVID-19 and leaping to a new Cheonan is 'interest and understanding in the digital field'.

The event, held for the first time this year, was held as an IT exhibition in the lobby on the first floor as well as the main event held in the city hall conference room on the 2nd, and was held simultaneously with 'Metaverse', which is attracting attention as a non-face-to-face communication channel for the MZ generation.

The main event, which was operated in strict compliance with the Corona 19 quarantine rules, was attended by Mayor Park Sang-don, Chairman of the Cheonan City Council, and IT workers, and awarded commendations to 21 people of merit in the development of local informatization and shared best practices.

The IT exhibition was organized so that local universities, information and communication companies, and information communication and IT associations could present various IT-related works such as 5G autonomous driving, AI robots, holograms, VR, AR, and drones so that citizens can experience innovative technologies.

Park Sang-don, Mayor of Cheonan, said, “It is even more meaningful to have a place to share information to create an IT-based culture at a time when non-face-to-face and digital culture is becoming a new standard due to COVID-19 and the pace of change is accelerating. We will use communication technology to lead the With Corona era and an intelligent information society,” he said.
