□ Wonju City recently announced that it would complete the 2021 Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) construction project to install state-of-the-art transportation infrastructure on major roads within the jurisdiction and enter normal operation from January of the new year.

□ ITS construction is a project that analyzes the level of intersection congestion, derives the optimal signal cycle, and provides the collected traffic information to drivers so that they can use the road safely and conveniently.

□ Previously, Wonju City was selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport public offering project and received 40 billion won from the government and 24 million won from the provincial government for 1.6 billion won of total project cost. We installed 13 control CCTVs, 6 video detectors, 15 smart intersections, 15 left turn sensitive signals, and 3 traffic information providing systems, replaced 2010 standard signal controllers in 60, and built traffic information center software and hardware. .

□ Wonju City has already secured 20 billion won from the government and 12 billion won from the provincial government out of 0.8 billion won for next year's project through the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport public offering project.

□ Gil-bok Lee, head of the transportation administration department, said, "We will continue to promote the establishment of advanced transportation infrastructure in connection with the Wonju autonomous driving pilot zone designation plan to make the best smart city in the central region."
