– 20 additional installations in 37 locations this year, including 36 vehicles in 106 locations, and artificial intelligence is also introduced.

Cheonan City will further strengthen its safety net by installing additional CCTV this year, which is playing the role of a sheriff in the safety blind spot.

The city announced that it had established a plan to install 12 new cameras in 9,200 locations and replace 36 old cameras in 106 locations by investing 58 billion won this year.

First, by April, a project cost of 4 million won will be spent to replace 2 vehicle number recognition CCTV in one location and 6,600 vehicles in 1 locations on newly opened major roads. Vehicle number recognition CCTV automatically recognizes wanted vehicles or crime prevention vehicles to respond to accidents and various crimes in high-crime areas and vulnerable areas.

In addition, by March, 3 million won will be used to replace 3 old crime prevention CCTVs in 3,000 locations, and by June, 39 million won will be invested to add 40 new crime prevention CCTVs in 6 locations and 6 child safety CCTVs in 9,600 locations.

In particular, the city plans to increase the number of artificial intelligence CCTVs to 2023 units by 6,261. This year, AI will be applied to 100 units first, and next year, AI will be applied to all 6,161 units.

The artificial intelligence control system is an intelligent service that applies computer image analysis technology to CCTV for crime prevention and preferentially displays the image to control personnel when abnormal behavior (loitering, breaking, falling, etc.) images are found.

By replacing the existing 24-hour manual control method with an event-oriented automatic control method, it is expected that only meaningful images will be controlled, thereby eliminating the control gap and contributing to crime prevention and citizen safety by promptly responding to incidents and accidents.

Meanwhile, Cheonan City is operating 60 CCTVs in 127 locations, including 1597 units in 4223 places of crime prevention, 229 units in 728 places of crime prevention, 299 units in 863 places in child protection areas, and 2,185 units in 5,941 places in city parks.

At the Cheonan Urban Integrated Operation Center, 16 people work 24 hours a day, 365 hours a day, 24 days a year to control CCTV in real time. Last year, it recorded 39 active criminals including assault, theft, and drunk driving. In addition, 2,050 crime investigation video materials were provided, and real-time CCTV images of 112 incidents were provided to the 119·9,588 situation room and patrol cars on the go.

A city official said, “CCTV, which prevents crime and enables rapid response in case of an incident, has contributed to the safety of citizens. said
