Gyeongsangnam-do announced that 2022 locations including Changwon, Tongyeong, Gimhae, Miryang, and Haman were finally selected for the '5 Smart City Competition Project' implemented by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, and secured a total project cost of KRW 340 billion.
The 'Smart City Project' is a project to solve regional urban problems by discovering and distributing smart city solutions suitable for regional characteristics through the participation of the private sector, local governments, and universities.
Gyeongsangnam-do was selected for the 'Regional Base Smart City Creation' selected by Changwon City in January and the 'Small and Medium City Smart City Creation Project' selected by Tongyeong and Haman-gun in February, followed by the 'Smart City Innovation Technology Discovery Project' in Gimhae and Miryang on April 1.
