– Non-face-to-face library that can borrow and return books 365 days a year

Gwangju Metropolitan Library will sign a business agreement with Gwangju Christian Hospital on the 24th to create a non-face-to-face reading environment close to life and open a smart library in the lobby on the first floor of the hospital.

A smart library is a non-face-to-face library that allows you to borrow and return books in public places such as parks and subway stations without visiting the library. It is open 365 hours a day, 24 days a year, XNUMX days a year, and anyone who is a Book Ieum member can borrow books for free.

The Smart Library is loaded with 240 books, including children's and general new books, Christian hospital hope books, and big data-based bestsellers, and can be borrowed for 1 books per person for 2 days. We plan to provide a variety of new books that reflect trends by replacing books on a quarterly basis.

In addition, to prevent COVID-19, we plan to provide a book sterilizer in the smart library booth to strengthen quarantine.

Director Baek Ho-seung said, “We will meet the demand for non-face-to-face book lending and return services that have increased due to the spread of COVID-19 through the smart library so that citizens who have difficulty visiting the library can read more conveniently, and provide services that can be used without time and space restrictions.” “We will continue to work hard to create a reading atmosphere in the local community,” he said.
