– Development of digital-based contents using specialized materials such as history and culture of Gyeongnam
– This year, three projects including 'Namhae-gun, 360° dome immersive immersive content' were selected and produced
- Expected to be “developed as regional core contents based on differentiated stories”

Gyeongsangnam-do and Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Promotion Agency announced on the 2022th that they have selected three tasks including '360° dome immersive immersive content' in Namhae-gun for the '3 regional specialized content development support project'.

This project is a project to develop digital-based contents that can create added value by using specialized materials such as history, culture, and tourism resources in Gyeongsangnam-do. It will be used as the main promotional video of the city and county.

The total project cost for this year is 7 million won including the national and local expenses. According to the detailed implementation plan of Gyeongnam Province, content development companies in the province will participate, and the Promotion Agency will perform the project promotion, evaluation and advisory roles.

In order to secure diversity in development contents and induce active participation of cities and counties in the province, we received proposals from 3 cities and counties for specialized content tasks that represent the traditional and historical unique creative assets and regional symbolism of the region from last March, and then conducted a corporate competition.

As a result of the corporate contest, a total of 12 individual or consortium companies, including immersive content, broadcast video, and metaverse, were received by local companies as the host organization. Three items were selected: realistic content, Noryang water light,” Goseong-gun “eagle realistic video content production and character development project,” and Changwon City’s “Changdong Art Village metaverse construction project”.

▲ Namhae-gun “360° dome immersive immersive content, the waters of Noryang”

To mark the year of visit to Namhae-gun in 2022, we will develop representative contents to attract 600 million tourists.

Based on the naval battle of Noryang, the 'last battle of the Imjin War', it is planned to be created as an immersive and realistic content by fusion with technologies such as 360° multi-projection mapping at sea, underwater photography, drone aerial photography, and 2D/3D motion graphics.

The value of Namhae-gun and Noryang will be re-examined, and the 360° full-dome screen will be screened at the Yi Sun-sin Soon-guk Park video hall to revitalize local tourism and create related added values.

▲ Goseong-gun “Eagle realistic video content production and character development”

The story of an endangered species of eagle that visits Goseong-gun every winter is produced as realistic video content, and a friendly eagle character with a symbol of ecological protection is developed.

The great and majestic eagle’s journey through Mongolia, China, and North Korea to Goseong is produced with panoramic circle vision and VR, and promotes local cultural tourism by promoting the Goseong Eagle Ecology Experience Center and producing various MD products. We plan to develop it into K-content.

▲ Changwon City “Virtual-Reality Convergence Changdong Art Village Metaverse Construction”

Changdong Art Village, a representative art tourism attraction in Gyeongsangnam-do, is reconstructed into a digital metaverse, a three-dimensional virtual world.

It is expected that, regardless of time and space, you will be able to visit Changdong Art Village at any time to appreciate the works of artists, participate in various experience programs, and purchase various related products.

Through this, a 'virtual-reality convergence tourism product' is also planned to increase interest in Changdong Art Village, an essential travel course in Changwon, and to lead domestic and foreign tourists to actual site visits.

Mi-young Han, head of Gyeongsangnam-do's Culture and Arts Division, said, "We expect that Gyeongnam's great cultural assets will be reborn as realistic content, characters, and metaverses by content companies in the province, and will be developed as core content representing the region." We will do our best to provide administrative and financial support so that the support project can serve as a catalyst for the advancement of the cultural contents industry in the province and for long-term development.”
