According to an interview with the organizer, Vietnam has increased interest in smart cities after the ASEAN-Korea Commemorative Summit held in Busan in 2019, and hopes to benchmark Korea's Sejong and Busan. Vietnam's smart city is still in its infancy, but has great potential for development, and opportunities for Korean companies to advance.

implication

In Vietnam, there are opportunities for public-private cooperation projects because of the government's willingness to invest in and develop smart cities and expand private investment in the infrastructure sector. However, there is a possibility that infrastructure investment plans may be reduced or delayed due to the increase in public debt, and there are differences in policies by province and city. In addition, although new business fields are spread rapidly and there is a demand for new technologies, it is advantageous to domestic companies in bidding, etc., and there are some discriminatory practices against foreign companies, so it is necessary to establish a close relationship with local influential companies.
