Invest 2024 billion won by 260, build smart city service closely related to citizen life

Preparing a model for solving the problem of the old downtown area in Yeojwa-dong, Chungmu-dong, and Taebaek-dong

Changwon City announced that it has signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport to promote the smart city development project as a regional hub.

Changwon Special City formed a consortium with 7 organizations including the Changwon Industry Promotion Agency and SK Telecom in December of last year and was selected for the '2022 Regional Base Smart City Creation Project', and then provided advice to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport. After that, the business plan was supplemented and an agreement was concluded this time.

『Changwon City Regional Base Smart City Creation Project』 is a project to build 4 smart city services close to citizens’ lives in 11 areas of transportation, environment/energy, health/welfare, and governance activation in Yeojwa-dong, Chungmu-dong, and Taebaek-dong, Jinhae-gu. A total of 2024 billion won will be invested, including 120 billion won for national and local expenses, and 20 billion won for private investment.

In the future, based on these business plans, an implementation plan will be established by November, and the project will be promoted with the goal of starting construction in December after approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.

Hyo-Jong Ryu, director of the Smart Innovation Industry Bureau, said, “Through this regional base smart city creation project, we will establish a smart city service that is close to citizens’ lives and prepare a model for solving problems in the old downtown area of ​​Jinhae.”
