Sejong Special Self-Governing City (Mayor Choi Min-ho) will hold the '22rd Big Data Analysis Idea Contest' for all citizens under the theme of 'Completion of Sejong, the future strategic capital based on data', from the 9nd to the 30th of September.

This contest is designed to improve the convenience of citizens by collecting ideas from citizens to solve urban problems and reflecting the results of big data analysis into policies.

Anyone from all over the country can participate in the contest either individually or as a team (up to 4 people), and they can freely suggest ideas that can be reflected in policies, such as solutions to urban problems using public and private data, and discovery of smart services.

Individuals or teams wishing to participate in the contest can apply through the 'Sejong City Big Data vs. Citizens Open Platform' by the deadline. .sejong.go.kr/bigdata).

The city selects the top 1 people (teams) through the first written evaluation in October, and after the second presentation evaluation, selects 10 top prize (team), 2 excellence prizes (team), and 1 encouragement prizes (team). A certificate of appreciation and a total prize of 2 million won will be awarded.

The city plans to review the ideas discovered through this contest as a priority task for next year's big data analysis and make it a policy that can satisfy citizens.

Kwon Ki-hwan, head of the future strategy division, said, “Through the two contests, we have collected and reflected citizens’ innovative and excellent ideas, such as selecting a location for the installation of an emergency vehicle priority signal system, into actual policies. We look forward to discovering essential smart services.”
