A venue for discussions on smart city information exchange and sustainable innovative growth

 

□ The Smart City Local Government Council (President: Busan Metropolitan City/Osan City, Secretary: Smart City Association) held the '2th Smart City Local Government Working Council' at Hotel Naru Ballroom 28, Mapo-gu, Seoul on February 2th.

□ At the meeting, presentations on strategies for smart city projects being promoted by local governments, smart city planning and data hub utilization plans, plans for overseas expansion of local governments, and capacity building for local government workers were provided, as well as a venue for exchange of opinions between local governments.

 

ㅇ This event was attended by 48 working-level managers from 71 local governments that have joined the Smart City Local Government Council, and was broadcast live online with 77 people simultaneously watching.

ㅇ Opinions were also presented asking for support from local governments and the need for practical guidelines for data, platforms, and infrastructure when establishing smart city plans.

 

□ Amid growing interest in smart city overseas expansion, “Open&Agile Smart City” was introduced as one of the ways for local governments to enter overseas markets. OASC is a non-profit organization headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, with 30 cities in 168 countries as members, and Busan and Daegu in Korea. The Smart Cities Association is seeking collaboration with OASC.

 

□ This was followed by guidance on the training course for strengthening the capacity of practitioners of smart city local governments.
