-Governor Kim Dong-yeon, “Please disclose the project promotion process and standards transparently”

Gyeonggi-do put heads together with experts to come up with specific plans for the 'Industrial Complex RE100' project, which uses idle land in industrial complexes to build a base for renewable energy production.

On the 28th, Gyeonggi-do held a meeting with the Energy Conversion & Corporate RE100 subcommittee of the Gyeonggi-do Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee at the Gyeonggi-do Office and discussed the 'Industrial Complex RE100' promotion plan.

Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi-do said on the day, “I hope that Gyeonggi-do will show that ‘there is hope because Gyeonggi-do exists’ and ‘it can be done like that’ while solving each and every task that Gyeonggi-do can do in relation to climate change response.” Please disclose all processes and standards transparently from one to ten.”

'Industrial Complex RE100' is a public-private partnership project that installs solar power facilities on idle sites such as the roofs of companies in industrial complexes. Gyeonggi-do provides consultations and adjustments between agencies, support for permits and administrative procedures, support for site discovery and publicity, etc. ▲Investors selected through the public offering establish a foundation for large-scale renewable energy production and supply through facility investment and management ▲RE100 companies in industrial complexes Responsible for purchasing renewable energy. For tenant companies, rent payment, free roof replacement, and small and medium-sized business energy efficiency projects are supported.

Gyeonggi-do plans to promote the project first for 50 industrial complexes that include photovoltaic power generation in the industrial complex management plan, and plans to expand to all 193 industrial complexes in the future.

For the realization of the successful model of the provincial 'Industrial Complex RE100' ▲Secure fairness and objectivity of the project through open recruitment and selection of investment institutions ▲Mitigate risk of investment institutions through active administrative support of provinces and cities ▲Supply of renewable energy by reducing investment costs such as development funds Induce unit price reduction ▲Strengthen industrial competitiveness by supporting Gyeonggi-do energy efficiency for companies in industrial complexes ▲Establish a large-scale renewable energy power supply system to support corporate RE100 and carbon neutrality, along with 5 directions, including business contents and promotion plans (drafts) reported to the committee.

The provincial government plans to review improvement plans and areas that need to be supplemented, and items that can be promoted in the short, mid- and long-term from the meeting, and reflect them in the business plan.

Governor Kim had previously promised to attend the Gyeonggi-do Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee meeting every month at the Gyeonggi RE4 vision declaration ceremony in April.

The Gyeonggi-do Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee is composed of 15 members, including 2 ex officio members, 23 provincial council members, and 40 private commissioned posts. Together with the general planning committee, ▲Public innovation regulation rationalization ▲Energy conversion & corporate RE100 ▲Governance in practice by citizens ▲Green economy and industrial innovation It is composed of 4 divisions.

On the other hand, as one of the province's carbon-neutral practices, the meeting was held as a ▲paperless meeting (using a laptop) ▲a meeting without paper cups and plastic water bottles.
