Chungcheongnam-do announced on the 2th that Seosan-si and Geumsan-gun were additionally selected for the '4nd drone special liberalization zone designation contest' hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.
The drone special liberalization zone is a regulatory special zone designated by the Minister of MOLIT to exempt and simplify prior regulations related to drone flight and preliminary evaluation related to radio waves. In our province, Asan City and Taean County were selected in 2021.
Since the end of last year, the province has been focusing its administrative powers, such as preliminary demand surveys, consultations with related organizations (military units), and customized consulting according to the creation plan, so that cities and counties in the province preparing for the contest can be selected for the contest project.
The projects selected for this 2nd contest are △City air transportation (UAM) and island area drone delivery demonstration (Seosan) △ Forest-specific drone test bed (test bed) establishment (Geumsan).
A total of three zones have been designated in Seosan, and urban air traffic demonstrations are carried out in the Bunamho area, delivery and safety-related demonstrations are carried out in Garorim Bay, and industrial complexes and safety-related demonstrations are promoted in Samgilpo Port.
In Geumsan, two areas have been designated, Jewon-myeon and Bururi-myeon, and carry out transportation of forest seedlings, identification of forest vegetation index, forest fire monitoring, and reconnaissance.
In addition to the previously selected and operated anti-drone (Asan) and coastal-specific drone services (Taean), the province expects that this additional selection will promote commercialization and commercialization of the drone industry.
