In this meeting held to discuss the construction start schedule and support matters following the completion of the data center design and the approval of the board of directors, Gyeongbuk Province, KT, kt cloud, Yecheon County, Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation, and people data, an Internet-based resource sharing (cloud) service maintenance company and CJ Logistics, which were in charge of constructing the data center, participated.

 

A cloud data center is a facility that can safely and efficiently operate and manage network, hardware, and data, which are core resources of information and communication technology (ICT), and have become a core infrastructure (infrastructure) in the digital economy era.

 

The Gyeongbuk-type cloud data center to be built in the Homyeong-myeon area of ​​Yecheon has a land area of ​​7,970m2 and four floors above ground.

 

After signing the 'Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on investment for the construction of cloud data centers' in January of last year, Gyeongbuk-do has introduced 'public institution' Various policies have been promoted to facilitate the smooth operation of the data center construction project, such as converting the 'integrated business system' into an Internet-based resource sharing (cloud) method and operating it.

 

The meeting was presided over by Choi Hyuk-jun, head of the Metaverse Science Bureau of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and started with kt cloud's announcement of the data center design results and construction plan, followed by discussions by each institution on matters necessary for data center construction and operation.

 

Lee Seong-dae, head of KT's North Gyeongsang branch, said, "We will train data experts and actively support activities to attract companies so that the Gyeongbuk-type cloud data center can become a successful case of cooperation between local governments and companies." It was proposed to provide housing facilities to facilitate the project.
