Daegu Line 3 advanced monorail construction and operation technology learning
Daegu Transit Corporation announced that on the 18th (Tuesday) and 19th (Wednesday), officials from Tainan City, Taiwan, such as the transportation bureau chief, visited the corporation to observe the advanced construction technology and operating system of the Daegu Line 3 monorail.

The visiting group consisted of a total of 15 industry experts, including the director of the Tainan City Transportation Bureau, who oversees public transportation infrastructure, city officials, academic professors, and engineering and project consulting officials.
On the first day of the visit, on the 18th (Tuesday), in order to benchmark the safety, convenience, and station structures of Daegu Line 3, we tested the train from Yongji Station to Seomun Market Station and checked the operation characteristics of the monorail. In particular, we looked at how the monorail harmonizes with the atmosphere of the urban landscape.
On the 19th (Wednesday), the general status of the construction and the construction and operation of Line 3 were explained at the headquarters, and a Q&A session was held on the operational efficiency, safety risk factors, and problems in the construction process of the Daegu Monorail.
Afterwards, they moved to the Chilgok vehicle depot and toured the maintenance site where major vehicle parts such as the speed reducer test site, important device test room, and tire exchange facility were completely disassembled and inspected and tested. In addition, the integrated arrangement of operation, power, and customer control and the configuration and function of each system were checked in the control room located in the base, and the understanding of the monorail was further enhanced by examining the monorail maintenance and special vehicles in the motor cargo.
Daegu Transit Corporation President Kim Ki-hyeok said, “I hope that this visit will provide the necessary knowledge and experience for the construction and operation of monorails in Taiwan.” I will go higher,” he said.
