  • (Regulatory special exceptions) Delivery robots are allowed to pass on sidewalks in relation to the Road Traffic Act, the provision of self-driving delivery robot services is permitted in relation to the Pedestrian Safety and Convenience Promotion Act, and mobile imaging devices are permitted to film while driving robots in relation to the Personal Information Protection Act.

  • Establishment of detailed action plan for demonstration section and consultation with relevant local government
  • Designate a demonstration course only in places where sufficient walking width is secured.
  • Demonstration driving robot identification sign and voice warning facility attached
  • Setting the driving speed considering the transportation vulnerable when driving in a protected area
  • In cases where complete remote control is difficult, deploy field personnel and take appropriate safety measures in areas with a high risk of accidents.
  • Sign up for insurance to prepare for accidents and immediately stop driving in case of a safety accident
  • Demonstration begins after verification of indoor safety test by Robot Industry Promotion Agency

② Conditional permission to provide self-driving mobility services

  • Securing standards for ensuring pedestrian safety (indoor safety test)
  • Designate a clear demonstration course
  • Ensure sufficient walking width
  • Maintenance such as resurfacing of poor road surfaces and maintenance of high sidewalk sills
  •  Designate field agent driver
  • Installation of information placards in major sections for demonstration special cases
  • Attach a sign to the outside to identify an outdoor self-driving robot.

③ Allow filming with mobile imaging devices while the robot is running.

  • Information boards shall be installed and attached so that all information subjects can easily understand them.
  • Limit video recording time and range to a minimum.
  • Personal information (personal video, vehicle registration number, etc.) is deleted immediately after delivery (within a maximum of 5 days) and cannot be transmitted externally or stored separately.
  • Self-driving delivery robot cameras must not be arbitrarily manipulated for purposes other than their original purpose or shown in other places, and recording functions cannot be used.
  • After preparing a ‘personal information processing policy’, disclose it on the website, etc., implement safety measures such as encryption of transmission and reception, establish a management and supervision system such as establishing an internal management plan and designating a person in charge of protection.
  • We will comply with the protection principles and measures for safe management in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act, and actively cooperate when requested by the Personal Information Committee to check whether this verification project is being faithfully implemented in the future.
