Daegu Metropolitan City, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, ranked 1st nationwide in the implementation evaluation of the innovative city comprehensive development plan
Daegu Metropolitan City received an institutional commendation on August 8 after the project promoted under the Innovation City Comprehensive Development Plan was selected as an excellent project in the implementation performance evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport has been evaluating the performance of major projects included in the comprehensive development plan of 10 innovative cities across the country every year, and Daegu Metropolitan City has been consistently performing excellent projects since receiving the agency award in 2019, the first year of evaluation. Although the city has received individual commendations, it is good news for Daegu Metropolitan City to receive institutional commendations again for the first time in three years.
For the 2022 implementation performance, a total of 3 projects were selected, 9 each in the specialized development field, settlement conditions field, and coexistence development field, and Daegu Metropolitan City was selected for one each in the specialized development field and settlement conditions field, and received an institutional commendation and 1 people of merit. Myeong received a personal commendation.
In the year since the launch of the 8th popularly elected election, Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo has repeatedly expressed generous support for the development of innovative cities, and such interest has led to the opening of the Korea Intelligent Information Society Agency's Data Integration Innovation Center (April 1) and the groundbreaking of Daegu Oriental Medicine University's Innovation Convergence Campus (May 4.20) this year. , and the opening of the Brain Research Commercialization Center (August 5.26) became the foundation for the promotion of major projects.
Daegu Metropolitan City is driving this external growth, while at the same time dramatically improving residential conditions for residents and employees of relocating public institutions through the establishment of a complex innovation center that residents of the innovation city and nearby areas are eagerly awaiting, as well as the creation of a second ice rink and a second arboretum. Efforts are also being made to create a liveable, innovative city that everyone wants to visit and is full of vitality.
In the meantime, Daegu Metropolitan City has been working to develop an innovative city by establishing various networks such as the Innovation City Development Committee and the Public Institutions Council. In particular, this achievement is a result of public institutions, local universities, businesses, and citizens working together to develop the characteristics of Daegu Innovation City. It is significant in that it is the result of discovering and promoting various projects tailored to the needs of the community.
