Announcement of ‘Hongcheon-type Smart Mobility Solution’ Living Lab results at the final briefing session

Achieved results that substantially improved the county’s ability to create smart cities

Hongcheon-gun (Governor Shin Young-jae) held the final report on the 16 Smart City Council capacity building training program at the Hongcheon Museum of Art on November 2023. The training consisted of group training (2 times) and living lab (6 times) and was conducted for a total of 8 times since last August for the Smart City Residents' Council.

The living lab dealt with the theme of 'Hongcheon-type smart mobility solution', and the residents' council led the living lab. In addition, Kia, a private company, piloted a smart mobility service (electric car sharing service) and participated in the Living Lab to support practical discussions, and a working council composed of relevant personnel provided policy advice.

Through the Living Lab, the residents' council created two Hongcheon-type smart mobility solution models ▲ a smart mobility service that improves convenience for residents ▲ a tourism base and tourism promotion based on video content, and announced it at the final report meeting and presented it to military officials, smart city and policy experts. Opinions were listened to.

A military official said, “Through this training, we were able to substantially develop the county’s ability to create a smart city,” adding, “▲We designed smart city services based on public-private-people partnerships. ▲ Residents, who are consumers, led the living lab, approaching the smart city from the perspective of service design rather than technology application ▲ By transparently revealing conflicting interests, residents, the public, and the public were able to demonstrate how important governance is in creating a smart city. “What private companies were able to confirm together – we were able to develop three core smart city creation capabilities.”

Meanwhile, the Smart City Council is a public-private governance body comprised of public officials and residents to create a Hongcheon-type smart city model. The 2023 resident council is composed of residents who represent various members of Hongcheon-gun while being closely related to daily movement, such as young people, military personnel, local merchants, executives and employees of local mobility companies such as taxis and drones, and cultural and historical officials.
