The ‘Gyeongsangnam-do Emergency Medical Situation Room’ serves as a control tower to strengthen the emergency medical system, responsible for everything from on-site transportation to final treatment such as medical treatment and surgery. Through this, the safety of the residents is secured by quickly disseminating the situation and coordinating the medical response through a collaboration system between 119 emergency rescue and medical institutions.

 

The emergency medical situation room, which is the first in the country to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, has 4 people in 12 teams (8 support teams, 4 firefighters) working in rotation, and golden time for emergency patients is secured through collaboration between the emergency medical system, which was previously divided into transport and medical institutions. It is expected to be able to respond effectively to emergency situations.

 

Gyeongnam Province plans to build a Gyeongnam-type integrated platform next year to upgrade the system of the emergency room and emergency medical situation room. Once the integrated platform is completed, it is expected to develop into a system that works with the residents of the province by understanding the occurrence and reporting of all emergency patients, hospital selection and transfer at a glance, and guiding emergency patient guardians to transfer hospitals.

 

Governor Park Wan-soo said, “We opened a situation room as an emergency medical control tower with the idea that there should be no hit-and-run cases in emergency rooms in our province.” He added, “We will build an integrated system that can share the status of emergency room medical personnel in real time, and help residents in emergency situations. “We will strengthen cooperation with hospitals to ensure timely treatment,” he said.
