Final approval of implementation plan MOLIT, completion of smart infrastructure construction by the end of the year, start of service
The 'Regional Base Smart City Creation Project' being built in Solaseado Enterprise City, Haenam-gun, has received implementation plan approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, gaining momentum in project promotion.
The regional smart city creation project, which is being promoted through a public contest by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, is being promoted with the plan to create a future city using cutting-edge smart city technology together with local governments and private companies.
Haenam-gun, which was selected for the 2022 public offering, has been establishing a Solaseado Smart City implementation plan with Jeollanam-do, private operators BS Industrial and SK Securities, and Jeonnam Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency.
Solaseado Enterprise City in Haenam-gun will build a smart infrastructure and service base, including self-driving shuttle buses, implementation of Solaseado Metaverse, solar power-based compressed waste treatment facility, and data hub under the theme of 'Future City Standard, Solaseado'.
We plan to invest a total of 156 billion won, including 260 billion won in national highway expenses, to complete the construction of smart infrastructure and start services by the end of this year.
In particular, as the 8.2㎞ section of Solaseado Enterprise City was designated as an autonomous vehicle pilot operation zone by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport in November last year, it is expected to create a further synergy effect in the smart city development project.
In the pilot operation zone, some special regulatory provisions will be applied to promote research and development of self-driving cars, and self-driving demonstration services will be implemented with temporary operation permits.
If this implementation plan is carried out without a hitch, the birth of a future city where self-driving cars run, the city operates with solar power, and virtual tourism experiences using the metaverse are expected to be born.
Solaseado Enterprise City is located in Gusung-ri, San-myeon, Haenam-gun, with the goal of becoming a garden city, smart city, culture and tourism city, and healthy city. A project cost of KRW 2,089 trillion will be invested by 632 on a site measuring 2030 million ㎡ (1 million pyeong) to develop tourism, A self-sufficient city with a population of 4,400 will be built with housing, jobs, and medical services.
Haenam County Mayor Myeong Hyeon-gwan said, “Solasido Smart City is the only city in the country designed from the urban development stage, and is expected to realize an innovative smart city never seen before.” He added, “Emphasis will be placed on designating a special opportunity development zone and creating a marine tourism leisure base.” “As the effects are expected to double along with the projects being promoted, we will provide active support to ensure that there are no setbacks in the project progress,” he said.
